Gubernatorial candidate Jeanne Ives has launched an ad mocking transgender community, feminists, teachers and law enforcement. Her 30-second spot features actors outfitted to portray a transgender woman, an anti-fascist protester wearing a hood and a bandanna over his face, a member of the Chicago Teachers Union and a Women’s March activist. The ad is not only offensive, it contains numerous falsehoods. This from the same woman who said she would not "lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those that do."
Ives’ “campaign ad does not reflect who we are as the Party of Lincoln and as proud residents of our great and diverse state. She should pull down the ad and immediately apologize to the Illinoisans who were negatively portrayed in a cowardly attempt to stoke political division. This petition is to demand Ives remove her ad from the airwaves and apologize. Call her at 331-462-0180 or 630-668-4841 Tweet her at @JeanneIves. Message on Facebook. Make her take it down.
