When someone tests positive for Cancer, Chemotherapy is covered by health insurance and when someone is a diabetic, a doctor usually will prescribe insulin and that too is covered by the patient's Health Insurance.  In 2018 my daughter was in Princeton's Eating Disorder Unit and the parents were taught that "Food is their medicine" She was admitted consuming 2100 calories and was discharged consuming 6000 calories. 

The reason their bodies need to consume so many calories is because their body has lacked proper nutrition for so long that It sends every nutrient to their vital organs.  Which means their body becomes hyper-metabolic and they burn the weight off extremely fast.   

With the price of food rising higher and higher on a daily basis it is nearly impossible for those who are about to enter into recovery to get there.   Eating Disorders have the highest mortality rate only second to the opioid crisis.  The Biden Administration vowed to accomplish so many things with regards to treatment for Eating Disorders and it seems that everything has been focused on Covid when in fact people without eating disorders are starving because they cannot afford food.  Can you imagine what it must be like for those who are told by their Eating Disorder Multidisciplinary Team that they need to consume 6000 calories a day.  

Due to inflation this is impossible.  Therefore, they are being set up to fail.  Its time now that our president implements a a law that requires Heath Insurance, Medics're, and Medicaid to cover the cost of food for those living with this disease.
