Why this petition matters

Started by Alexis Economou

Women’s health is something I am very passionate about changing within our education system. As a 29 year old women who has battled with my own gynaecological health problems for many years, I believe we need more awareness, more safe places & education systems in place.

Adequate education allows us all to understand, in depth, the things we go through. Periods, discharge, thrush and Bacterial Vaginosis are normal, although varies, in everyone it is naturally apart of a woman’s reproductive system.

Education allows women to understand their own bodies & how it functions. Highlighting the possible complications within the female reproductive system  and the issues women face everyday, such as endometriosis, PCOS & infertility just to name a few. Knowing what the symptoms for all the various diagnoses are means It is less likely to get a wrong diagnosis.

It is paramount that the long terms effects of the above diagnosis & understanding that some have no long term cure, if any, are taught so that women can deal with not only the physical impact but the mental health repercussions of their gynaecological health.

We need more open honest conversations.

Women to feel heard.

Women deserve to be understood.

Women deserve adequate education.
