As temperatures grow warmer and sun exposure becomes increasingly dangerous, we need further protections for our children at all of our Glendale Unified School District's playgrounds and outdoor play areas.

Simply put, we need SHADE STRUCTURES and / or DROUGHT-RESISTANT TREES to shield our children from the sun's harmful rays. Without shade, our children are exposed to dangerously high temperatures on playground surfaces including asphalt. Without shade, our children are hit with direct sunlight which may cause sunburns and could lead to serious health consequences in the future like skin cancers. We need shade structures and trees NOW for the health and safety of our kids.
