The water companies are not effectively being held to account by Ofwat or the Environment Agency. In my opinion all these companies & agencies need proper oversight that puts the needs of the consumer, the environment & the user first.

• That sewage should not be discharged into our waterways
• That chalk streams should be fully protected in recognition of their uniqueness 
• That leaks should be at less than 10%.
• That proper plans for drought should be made, funded & enacted
• That bonuses & dividends should only be paid when targets are met
• That fines should be paid by the shareholders 
• That rivers, lakes, lochs & seas should meet safe bathing requirements 
• That the ecosystem in our waterways should be protected 
• That when discharges occur these must be widely publicly reported
• That planning department have to take into account the impact their decisions have on waterways, water supplies & sewage (domestic & commercial/farming planning decisions)
