The Family Law system in Ontario is very disorganized and unfair and is promoting dishonesty.

It takes roughly 3 to 4 months to get a motion in Ontario to deal with financial disclosure and spousal/child support and years to get to trial.  This is far too long of a wait as everything is on zoom.  The courts are even cancelling people's motions the day before.  This is extremely unfair as justice isn't being served to people.  Motions typically cost $5000.  This makes it extremely hard for the innocent party to seek justice.  Making them settle for much less than they deserve.

The government needs to intervene and fix the issue of backlog.  Hiring more staff, increasing the working hours and by making financial disclosure mandatory.  Financial disclosure should be honestly provided 30 days before the Case Conference and if it isn't then people should be fined.  This would free up the courts time by eliminating motions for financial disclosure.
