Eid ul-Fitr is a very important festival in the Islamic calendar and was started by Prophet Muhammad himself. It is also known as 'The Feast of Breaking the Fast' and is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of Ramadan. Muslim students at Richfield public schools are required to still come to school after fasting for 30 days straight; furthermore, they are expected to be excused from school to celebrate the holiday while also being required to do the work they missed. It’s not fair to the Muslim population at all. Eid will be a school holiday in Minneapolis, Hopkins, Moorhead, and Mankato. If you think that Richfield public schools should resemble Minneapolis, Hopkins, Moorhead, and Mankato, please sign this petition!
