Early Childhood Educator’s support the developing child from 0 to 5 years old, which is the most critical period in cognitive, emotional, and physical growth during childhood. Yet, Early Childhood Educators are viewed as ‘less than’ compared to unionized teachers. The goal is to challenge that concept and ask questions like, “why?” Why are Educators not viewed as equal to teachers? Through continuous research related to wages, societal views, working conditions, such as burnout, and being viewed as babysitters instead of knowledgeable educators who support and strengthen the minds of children, there is an urgency to share this knowledge and find a solution to these preconceived views towards equitability as it is affecting not only Early Childhood Educators but children and families also. Looking at the issues surrounding Early Childhood Educators, a plan of action will be created to resolve or take steps in resolving this challenge relating to equitability and Early Childhood Educators.
