Computer science is my major and I would have loved it if useful classes were counted rather than the myriad number of classes that are overall useless in highschool.

in this day and age technology related skills are invaluble as a result our educational system needs to reflect current times better an author i read by the online handle viper said something like this and i agree with him "I was smart enough to know
that half of what we were being forced to learn was bullshit, and I was bold enough to throw it in the
teacher's faces every chance I got."
most of the school i went to had their program bloated with pork that honstly the resources could have went elsewhere and done more good maybe something like this will trim the fat a little

Computers are our future we should support anyone going into this vast unknown field. Who knows what they may accomplish with these skills they learned in high school. Computers are intergrated almost completely with almost every job you deal with tech. I Know many jobs where knowing common computer skills come in handy. people should be allowed to follow any dreams they wish to follow and if it will better the community if not the world why stop them. We are slowly reaching greater and greater feats in the last one hundred years alone we have advanced greatly. More people in this field could lead to grand accomplishments that would astound us now. So who knows maybe if we encourage more people in high school. Personally I am in high school I have taken quite a few computer classes no real programing classes just basic things but they still help me to this day to figure out and use the internet to solve many a problem. People expanding this resource could lead to better if not greater computers pushing us a whole into a new era another golden age for society to grow and advance further into the stars of science and the unknown.

Is California not modern? Americans spend a portion of our lives using technology to do commerce, find jobs, pay utilities & gain access to medical care. Does it not make sense to promote the skills required for modern life in America?
