As an aroace person, I have just found out that there is no day or week for aromantic asexuality. This just doesn't seem right. Most other sexualities have at least a day and we already face a lot of discrimination from the community. I've heard many people say that this isn't a real sexuality, and this isn't helping much. I think we need an appreciation week. I think the date should be January 17th-24th. January is a month of new beginnings and I think the date fits. I don't really know why, but it just felt right. For anyone who is about to say something like "Well, there's celebrations for aromantic and asexuals, isn't that close enough?" No, it isn't. Aromantic asexuality is not the same as either of those. If it was, it would have the same name.
