A common issue among students nationwide is on-campus parking. In order to be able to park on-campus, students must purchase parking passes, and even then they have to park in very specific lots that tend to still be far from classes. This raises issues for students who may be running late for class or who are injured. Additionally, parking passes are usually very expensive with prices upwards of $300 per year. If a student tries to park on campus without a pass or in a lot that they were not assigned to, they will get ticketed. These tickets usually start at pretty low prices (under $100), but if a student gets repeat citations, the prices rise. This seems nonsensical as students already pay a considerable amount of money through tuition. If all students who plan to bring vehicles to school receive a pass that they can put on their dashboard and use as needed, the stress of parking citations and planning how to get to class will be greatly decreased.
