While housing is a universally recognized human right, there is considerable debate over how to make housing affordable and accessible to everyone regardless of age or ability. It is time to stop debating and start taking action. 

It is time to demand that housing must be mandated by law to be affordable and accessible to all Ontarians. 

Furthermore, Building Code must be updated to line up with Human Rights Code and the Charter Of Rights And Freedoms. Building Code says that only 15% of units must be made “visitable” when in reality, ALL units should be accessible enough to live there.

We must tell our Members of Provincial Parliament that it is time to recognize that housing which is barrier and affordable is a human right.

By signing this petition, we demand that housing be made accessible and affordable to all Ontarians. We also pledge that housing needs to be recognized as a universal human right by our Members of Provincial Parliament.
