The caves and cliffs update was amazing. It gave us amethyst, goats, axolotls, etc, but most importantly it showed us that biome updates can greatly improve the gameplay. The deserts of minecraft are dry. Whether you mean in gameplay or in water supply. A desert update would make the game more enjoyable in general.
