Danielle Bellefleur started this petition to Maine State Senate

Brandon Brown is a 33 year old inmate at Warren prison. He has served 10 years of his 17 year prison sentence for being charged with attempted murder.he is charged due to an altercation in the old port that led to a shooting which left a man paralyzed.

During his 10 years at the prison he has earned a bachelors degree  as well as a masters degree, being Maine’s first inmate to do so. This is a huge accomplishment that most everyday folks are not able to accomplish. The hard work and dedication do not change because Brandon is an inmate.
He is a human who made a mistake in life, he is someone’s son!

I have personal experience with a loved one being in jail who is often times not looked at as a human. He has been in and out of jail and is NEVER given a chance to succeed in life and has to turn to the streets.

THIS MAN CAN BECOME SOMETHING! HE CAN BE THE CHANGE FOR OTHER INMATES AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO CHANGE THEIR OWN LIVES! HE CAN TAKE CARE OF HIS FAMILY WHO HAS STRUGGLED TO TAKE CARE OF HIM WHILE HE WAS INCARCERATED.

Mills’ office recently denied Brandon Brown’s clemency petition, the Portland Press Herald reported Friday.

Brown was accepted into a doctorate program at George Mason University in Virginia, where he’d hoped to begin studying restorative justice and conflict resolution this fall.

I ASK THAT YOU SHARE AND SIGN THIS PETITION AND HELP THIS MAN SUCCEED IN LIFE AND HELP CHANGE THIS TERRIBLE JUSTICE SYSTEM! OPEN YOUR HEARTS AND IMAGINE THE SITUATION AS IF IT WERE YOUR OWN CHILD!
