Support Maine long term care employees; pass LD 1466 to provide wage increases
This petition had 1,245 supporters
Maine's long term care employees spend their days and nights caring for our elderly and disabled citizens either at home or in nursing homes and assisted living communities. Over 26,000 caregivers make up the backbone of long term care in Maine. Their jobs are emotionally and physically demanding. These positions, along with all other employees providing support in our long term care facilities, are valuable and everyone deserves to make a livable wage. We urge lawmakers to support legislation, LD 1466, that will provide a 10% Medicaid increase in long term care provider rates for staff wages and benefits. If you are a long term care employer, employee, a resident or client receiving services, or a family member, please sign the petition in support of this effort. Show Maine lawmakers how important this issue is across the state. We must care for our caregivers!
