Maine has had a low COVID-19 infection rate and low mortality rate. We have had ZERO cases in daycare settings. However daycares across Maine are now being mandated to require five year olds and older to wear face masks. It is recommended that two through four year olds wear masks but it is not required... yet.

This is COMPLETELY ridiculous. Daycares are already taking precautions by taking temperatures, asking the parents health questions at each drop off, are keeping their homes/facilities clean and have children who don't feel well stay home. Children in Maine are not getting sick with this virus. We ask this state to stop making life impossible for daycares and families. Asking small children to wear a mask all day long is not healthy or reasonable. Trust that parents and daycare providers have the children's best interest at heart. 

Please reverse this decision immediately.
