The use of plastic straw is harming the environment so that MUIC should take the initiative to ban the use of plastic straws on campus and students should get used to the more environmentally-friendly straws, perhaps no straw. Like other plastic products, plastic straws have not been properly managed by many countries. At first glance, small plastic straws may not seem to be the burden to the environment, but as many of them are used daily, added to the total amount of plastics littered, this has given rise to a more tangle and serious environmental damage. At MUIC, there are about 4,000 students. It is possible that a person uses 2 straws each day. This means MUIC community will contribute about 2.9 million straws each year. Mahidol University itself is the greenest university and has the campaign that the shops on campus stop giving out plastic bags. In addition, there are more movements of many countries that started to ban the use of plastic straws and promote other alternatives such as bamboo or paper straws. As a result, as we are in MU community, MUIC can be the leader on this in Thailand by banning the use pf plastic straws on campus.

Apart from this, you can now say no to straws as much as possible.

Once the number of supporters reaches 100, I will email the Dean my idea!.
