Biometric attendance in schools and colleges is good provided

- Education quality in these schools / colleges are of good quality

- It is implemented across all stats in India

The intention of Biometric attendance in education is to promote student's focus on course curriculum of 11th and 12th. Indian education system is job oriented and students aim to get admission in the best colleges for graduation courses. Current exam pattern of IIT and NEET provides equal opportunity to all students. Primarily as the students focus on these exams and select integrated college or traditional schools based on their convenience. Recently, Maharashtra government has defined rules which will make biometric attendance at science junior colleges and high schools mandatory. This is going to have huge impact on Maharashtra students aiming for IIT / NEET. In metro city like Pune, it is very difficult for students to go to school as well as coaching classes due to distance and lack of public transport system, therefore they prefer to go for integrated colleges which provides regular classes and coaching in the same facility. Most of the top rankers and students getting in these national level exams are from integrated colleges. With this decision being implemented only in selected city of Maharashtra, the students appearing for national level exams such as IIT / NEET will be at disadvantage. Students from these cities / areas will be spending more time and effort on travelling and following two patterns while all other students across India appearing for the same exams will be focusing on the exams. As these are highly competitive exams, the Maharashtra students are being deprived of equal opportunity with this decision. Request to postpone this decision till it is implemented across India uniformly.
