Monique Horsman started this petition to Magnit and

The world’s first plastic-free supermarket opened in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Ekoplaza Lab is the world's first plastic-free store. The Plastic Free Lab is located in Amsterdam and sells only plastic-free items.

Why haven't other supermarkets follow their example? They made the changes in weeks as other companies claim the change will take years. We are talking about the waste of plastic daily. Studies show that we produce roughly 300 million tons of plastic each year and half of it is disposable! World-wide only 10-13% of plastic items are recycled.

From Ekoplaza, the quality manager says “Most products in this store are made from this special biomaterial. It’s a material that’s fully compostable in twelve weeks. You can recognize it by the seedling logo on the packaging which guarantees it is certified and compostable You can put this with your Kitchen and Garden waste. In twelve weeks it will be fully composted”

A father of 2 boys said, “The best thing will be if this becomes the standard in supermarkets Every kind of packaging made FROM biodegradable products”

Let's push supermarkets to make the change NOW!
