Madewell2Meeth Tarka Trail
Madewell2Meeth Tarka Trail
Why this petition matters
This is just to highlight the need and support for the re-opening of the existing Tarka Trail infrastructure between Madewell Farm (West Fishleigh, Hatherleigh) to Meeth Quarry and Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve.
Reopening this stretch of Tarka Trail would especially be of great benefit to the many daily and regular visitors of Madewell Farm who may have Challenging Behaviours and/or learning impairments. This would provide safe and direct access to the Tarka Trail and surrounding areas, vastly contributing towards improving and promoting their Independence, Wellbeing and Welfare. Many of these residents and visitors have bikes that they are currently not otherwise able to use on a practical basis.
The existing Cycle Network 27 would also be further extended providing greater links to the Historic 'WarHorse' and 'Ruby Country' Village of Hatherleigh, benefitting local businesses, and offering a viable and sustainable means of alternative travel. This could also potentially help reduce the local carbon footprint and possible fuel costs.
The Tarka Trail connects communities and is a vital, successful and integral part of the Devonshire landscape and Heritage. To re-open this stretch of Tarka Trail as a shared space would surely be of great interest, benefit and enjoyment for the many.
If you believe that the existing Tarka Trail infrastructure between Madewell and Meeth should be re-opened for all then please sign and support
Many thanks and Very Best Wishes to all !!
