Why this petition matters
It's that time of year again and everybody is ready to go to "The Pumpkin Patch". Maddie's is going through our yearly permit renewal process and we are asking for your support once again.
Last year, we made a bold statement in letting our City Officials know that we unequivocally wanted Maddie's to remain a part of our community.
Your resounding voice in the form of signing our petition to calling and or emailing our respective officials made all the difference. They couldn't believe how many people responded! We are truly humbled and very grateful that you took the time to make your opinions heard. This outcome only made us want to work even harder for you.
Last year's Petition received 2702 signatures in just a short two weeks. Here is last years petition:

This year, let's not let them forget. Lets "All" call our commissioners and thank them for voting to allow places like Maddie's to exist within our community. Let them know how much we appreciate their support and count on their vote to continue to let places like Maddie's exist. We need places like these to exist in order to provide for a balanced "quality of life" community. We are scheduled for the first public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission September 7, 2022, at 3:30 p.m., at McAllen City Hall Commission Chambers, 1300 Houston Avenue, McAllen, Texas. (Update) we got a favorable recommendation for approval by the planning department. The second public hearing will be held before the Board of Commissioners of the City of McAllen on September 26, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., at McAllen City Hall Commission Chambers, 1300 Houston Avenue, McAllen, Texas. Currently, all looks good! We were approved last year for the first time on a "Conditional Use Permit" and were to be evaluated and graded throughout the year to include one of our busiest times of the year, Christmas time.
We surpassed their expectations! If this year's approval conduct standard is to be measured by last year's report card, we are up for an award.
We've aced the test and have fully demonstrated that we are able to carry out our activities and responsibilities within the guidelines and conditions set forth by city regulations, along with some of our own.
