Require the Bailey Mountain Cloggers Undergo Racial Sensitivity Training

In promoting their upcoming Spring show, "Legends", the Bailey Mountain Cloggers of Mars Hill University displayed several images of caucasian members of their team as prominent black musicians. Several alumnus from MHU attempted to reach out to the organization via social media and other outlets but were met with widespread and persistent online harassment and vehement defense of the images.

Despite this defense the organization took the images down and issued a statement that "It was never the intent to culturally appropriate on any level. However, we take responsibility for how those images have been interpreted and commit to using this incident as a learning opportunity for our campus community."

Many members still don't seem to know why the images were offensive.

I recommend that the entire organization be required to take racial sensitivity training so they can understand the gravity of what was done here and to prevent it from happening again in the future.

Please add your voice to mine. Knowledge is power, and I'd like the Bailey Mountain Cloggers to be just a little more informed after all of this.
