Petition Closed

In an annual “holy pig” ritual in New Taipei City, Taiwan, some farmers compete to raise the heaviest pig and subsequently killing the pigs to please the gods. The pigs are often kept in small enclosures and are hit on the snout to force them to keep eating, and the pigs can weight up to nearly 1,000 kg. Winner of the competition will be awarded nearly six ounces of gold by the temple authorities. No animal deserved to be treated in such an inhumane way and I plead you to sign the petition so that this barbarous practice can be abolished!
