The baseball fields at Lyons Township High School D204 are badly in need of repair. The freshman field was torn up last fall, work stopped abruptly, and the field is currently unplayable. The varsity field also has issues to be addressed. A previous request for funding to repair the fields was denied, now the season is 2 weeks away and the Board of Education and Administration must take action quickly to get these fields ready for the upcoming season. These fields are an embarrassment to the school and are not consistent with the quality and dedication of the players and coaches in the baseball program. Every team at LT deserves to have a safe field to play on, and the baseball teams need improved facilities to compete with other schools in our conference who have better fields.
