As a resident of the Macedon Ranges it has come to our attention that there have now been two serious crashes on Black Forest Drive within 6 months.
Both of these crashes have resulted in cyclists being seriously hurt or killed
Black Forest Drive is well frequented by Cyclists as it forms a connection between towns within the Macedon Ranges and is accessed for many different types of bike user groups.
We are gravely concerned that in light of these recent collisions the existing road design for Black Forest Drive encourages poor driving behavior among motorists and does not provide any separation or protection to vulnerable road users – such as cyclists.
We implore you to take urgent action to investigate the existing road conditions and propose a designed solution for Black Forest Drive that encourages safe and practical use for all road users.
