Expand Ludington's Dog Beach

Residents and visitors alike want a place where their pups can enjoy the water. Visitors that want to enjoy a beach day may not have a place to leave their dogs.

The beach between the Loomis Street Boat Launch and the North Pier is a less-used beach that would be a great location close to town where dog-lovers could enjoy a day at the beach with their furry companions.

Mason County Mutts has pledged to furnish a waste receptacle with a ‘mutt mitt’ waste bag attachment, along with two signs marking the designated dog accessible zone. The organization would perform regular beach sweeps every two weeks or as needed to ensure that the area remains clean and free from dog excrement.

This request has been sent back to committee by City Council. Read more in the link below. We believe if we can show community support, we may have a better shot of getting the request approved.
