Lucy Wicks to Vote YES in parliament for Same Sex Marriage.

This petition had 47 supporters

The Liberal Government chose to hold a plebiscite to ascertain public opinion on the question of legalising Same Sex Marriage.

By choosing this action, the Federal Government clearly indicated they wished to be guided by the voice of Australians on this matter. The people of the Robertson electorate voted 66% YES, notably above the national average.

Lucy Wicks is on public record advocating the NO position.

This petition is intended to convince Ms Wicks that she should accept the view of the very large majority of the electors of Robertson and vote unequivocally YES on Same Sex Marriage legislation when it is presented to parliament.

If Ms Wicks were to vote against the legislation, that would be clearly unrepresentative of the electorate, and adverse to the directive of the Government in seeking public opinion.
