'When I saw the light in your window, I knew I didn’t have to feel frightened.'
In 2005, an estimated 100 million (1 in 65) people worldwide were homeless and as many as 1 billion people live as squatters, refugees or in temporary shelter, all lacking adequate housing. In Western countries, the large majority of homeless are men (75–80%), with single males particularly over represented.
The criminalisation of homeless people is a huge problem across the country, in all major cities such as London, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, Manchester and Newcastle. Offensive billboards, advising people not to give money to the homeless. Financial cuts made to charities working tirelessly to end this more obvious problem. Sign this petition to do your bit and help end the pain, suffering and loneliness so many people endure everyday.
