Kristen Bishop started this petition to Lucas County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board

Rescue Mental Health and Addiction Services is at risk of being defunded starting July 1, 2021. Rescue is and has been a staple in Lucas County for over 40 years, regularly serving over 8,000 clients in mental health crisis through its adult and child and adolescent residential units, crisis hotline, Helpline, and psychiatric urgent care. Offering unique and unparalleled services, Rescue aids individuals from local and surrounding communities, including those from other counties and even other states. Rescue staff believe in the right to exceptional mental health care, working collaboratively with community mental health centers to provide referrals to continued services following crisis stabilization. As the only organization of its kind in Lucas County, Rescue is an essential resource, inspiring a possibility of change, acceptance, and growth against the stigma associated with mental health care. By welcoming and embracing clients, Rescue leads by example. Rescue staff believe in making a difference and view Rescue as their calling. We need your help to remain open, serve vulnerable clients, and provide singular mental health care. Please sign this petition to show your support to keep Rescue open!
