What LUC needs is more financial scholarships and supports for people from varied economic and cultural backgrounds. A student should not have their enrolment terminated for reasons of poverty or for remarks on their lived experiences with racism or inequality on campus.

I am appalled this expulsion and the justification used. There are many reasons why POCs, especially Black women, feel harmed by predominantly white institutions and it is within their legal rights to challenge this and advocate for a better experience. Denying this constitutional right while making exceptions for other groups is bias and unfair. An institution that fails to protect the rights and safety of their students should be ashamed. Orealla does not deserve to be punished for the institutions mistakes.

PS: Orealla, I don’t know you personally but I can deeply empathize with what you’re going through. Being targeted and gaslighted for speaking your truth hurts. I hope you’re healing from this in your own way and are in a safe space until this bs is over. Good luck, and keep shining.

If LUC can't handle racism in the first place, punishing POC for speaking up against it is just incredibly disrespectful.

I am human, I am a woman, I am a black woman, I am a educator and I am a student!!! Let's support instead of oppress the human beings who are systematically oppressed!

LUC needs to do something about their racism instead of punishing students who bring this racism to light! Orealla needs a medal not an expulsion!
