Secure Lubbock ISD Schools

While our politicians argue over gun reform, another school shooting has taken place, and more children have died. Yet again, the immediate response to these incidents is a debate over gun reform, which often concludes in a dead end, with nothing being done to enhance the safety and well being of our children.

In order to improve the overall safety of our children, I propose the following measures be considered by the Lubbock Independent School District Board of Trustees:

  1. Employ more LISD police officers, the ratio of officers to schools is remarkably unacceptable.
  2. Provide active shooter training for all faculty, staff, and students within the school district.
  3. Ensure security measures like functioning metal detectors are in every school within the district.
  4. Feasibility study regarding  firearm training for properly vetted faculty.

Respectfully,

Michael Garcia - A concerned dad
