My school does not have Mental Health Awareness Week. Many parents feel comfortably to discuss this matter with their children but not all. With this program, it will shed a little bit of light to those who either need it or dont know about it. I am writing this on behalf of a handful of fellow students who want to see a change. Mental health is something that needs to be taken seriously. A school is the perfect environment were children feel at ease to discuss matters like this. As mentioned, not all kids have parents who would want to talk about a matter like this, for whatever the reason.

This is being written now, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone is realising more and more about the mental health of being in confinement. We, as the student body, have also taken note. Realising, not everyone has the same take on what mental health is decided to make a difference. Why should person a grow up not knowing as much when person b knows so much? Every grade level, from 1st through 8th grade can benefit from a little help.

This program would be the solution- the change we wish to see made. Please help the students that need it and those who aren't as aware but need it.

To recap, this program has not been in our school and is needed, now more than ever. Students can only benefit from Mental Health Awareness Week. Everyone of all age groups need to be vigilant. Please help us By signing this petition.
