The Injustice of Dress Code in LTISD

The Injustice of Dress Code in LTISD
Why this petition matters
Why are girls being punished in schools for the way boys act? Instead of telling the girls how to dress the school should instead be teaching the boys how to act appropriately toward all girls. How we dress should be our choice and is not a invitation to boys. How we dress is part of our identity, let us have the right to dress the way we want to. The temperature might be 99 degrees outside but girls will still wear leggings and feel uncomfortable in class because we are afraid of being dress coded. We understand that there are certain body parts that should remain covered (like the three Bs). But we still feel that being able to wear shorts and being able to show our shoulders should be allowed. At the end of the day we will be able to feel more comfortable in class and possibly do better in school instead of worrying if we will get dress coded or not.
