Save Schmidt

I am a teacher and find myself in a similar position. Schools protect students against peanut allergies, carry them down steps during fire drills, protect their privacy closely, all because individual lives matter. Not respecting individual teacher lives not only sends a poor message to students, but actually demonstrates that many institutions, even those we most love, sometimes value profit and the avoidance of controversy over the value of a life. Schools should model the world they want students to grow up into and not just tell them about it.
It takes courage to do the right thing.
