LSE Cleaner Sacked After 11 Years of Service - Save Anthony's Job!!
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
Anthony is a hard working member of cleaning staff who has worked at LSE for 11 years. However due to administrative errors, Anthony's right to work checks were severely delayed, despite him applying well within home office guidelines. Therefore his right work has been removed and his contract at LSE has now been terminated.
Anthony's clearances are only weeks away, so we have requested that the LSE Estates simply hold his job open for him for a matter of weeks (up to mid June) so that when his clearances come through he can return to some job security. The LSE estates team so far have only offered to give Anthony till the end of April which we do not think will be enough time for his clearances to come through, and then that he would then go into an entry level role, with a nearly 50% reduction in hours, despite his 11 years of service and his rising to supervisor/team leader level previously. Anthony will have been without a job role for many weeks by this point. As a low paid worker living and working in London Anthony does not have the same security net that many others have. Anthony has worked hard to progress in his role for many years - he simply needs to be able to get back to his job as quickly as possible which will also benefit LSE as he is an extremely experienced member of the team.
Returning to work in his same role, with no reduction in pay or hours, would help to prevent Anthony and his family finding themselves in an extremely vulnerable position.
Please support our request for LSE to give Anthony until mid June and then re-hire him in his same role by signing this petition. It is completely in the LSE estates teams power and is a decision that can be made easily. Many thanks!
