Food Truck Friday at Loyola Marymount University

Imagine having a new source of food on campus that wasn't your usual Iggy's Diner, Roski Dining, or The Lair Marketplace meal. Students get sick of eating the same food all the time, and each time leave off campus more and more in order to satisfy certain cravings they cannot find on campus.

If you're a student at LMU, you know how tiring it gets.

How nice would it be if the school brought a new food truck every Friday in order to switch things up a bit? Students would definitely be pleased and stay on campus creating a more friendly and social environment. 

This can also be seen as a chance to bring awareness to the LMU campus on healthy eating for the environment. While bringing a different source of food for the students, we can also make sure that the food trucks are of organic food so that students can see how they can help the environment while continuing to eat good food. 

Organically raised animals are NOT given antibiotics, growth hormones, or fed animal byproducts. Feeding livestock animal byproducts increases the risk of mad cow disease (BSE) and the use of antibiotics can create antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria. Organically-raised animals are given more space to move around and access to the outdoors, which help to keep them healthy. It is also better for the environment. It reduces pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy. Farming without pesticides is also better for nearby birds and animals as well as people who live close to farms.

Let's bring awareness together! This can be possible! In order to make the LMU board members aware of this need for change, we need to come together as the LMU community that we are.
