Did you know that trying to pay for childcare can be the equivalent of paying for an entire house's mortgage? According to the Center for American Progress, average child care spending amounts to nearly 10% of the average family income, which is 40% more than the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' definition of affordability. The President's Build Back Better Act would

- put a cap on the cost of childcare (7% of a families income) and

- would fund a public pre-K program for 6 years.

The current status of the act is stagnant within the Senate due to Senator Joe Manchin publicly pulling support from the act. This essentially killed the act, and no discussion has been made since. We hope you will sign this petition in hopes of bringing the discussion back around and pushing this act through the Senate.

It will help all families struggling to get their children into child care and allow for children to begin developing socially, emotionally, and intellectually by a younger age.
