Lower the prices of iced tea back to $2 at DSS
The school cafeteria is meant to be a cheaper alternative to food and drink so that students who may not be able to afford food outside of school can still eat. Recently, without any warning, the price of the school’s arguably most popular drink, Nestea, was raised from $2 to $3. This is a huge 50% price increase, and as a result many students have stopped buying them. It’s now cheaper to leave the school and buy a drink at the gas station or a grocery store than it is to buy it in our own cafeteria. There aren’t a lot of quality cheaper alternatives in our vending machines, many drinks such as the Apple juice cans are expired, moldy, and sticky with residue on the outside. The students of DSS shouldn’t have to deal with huge price increases on one of the most bought drinks at school when school is supposed to provide a cheaper alternative. Instead, it is more expensive to buy it at school then it is to buy it somewhere else.
