Install Trash Cans at the Hamilton Crossings Walkway

Install Trash Cans at the Hamilton Crossings Walkway
Why this petition matters
It's important to keep our community walkways and environment clean so that both people and wildlife may be able to enjoy them for years to come. Recently, I have noticed that due to the increase of businesses and restaurants being built in the Hamilton Crossings shopping center, more people are using the Timmer Trail pathway between Hamilton Crossings and the Harvest Fields neighborhood and it is becoming very littered with trash on a daily basis. My family and I often walk near there and pick up the trash left behind, which are usually plastic bags, cups, straws, wrappers, etc. from the local businesses. This tells me there is a need for at least one trash can to be installed so that people can dispose of their trash once they reach the walkway.
Today, I am petitioning Lower Macungie Township and the local businesses in the shopping center to install a trash can at the start of the walkway near the Taco Bell entrance/bench area to help with the littering problem. I understand that installing a trash can comes with a price - i.e. extra resources and funding, however I believe it is a necessity to keep the environment clean, as well as maintain property values for the homes in the area.
Please help me reach my goal of at least 250 signatures on this petition so that I might be able to show the value in putting forth the funding to install a trash can at the Hamilton Crossing walkway, and in turn, keep our community litter-free! Thank you.
