Bailee Hosfelt started this petition to Loved ones of inmates

As you know, the Covid-19 pandemic has effected us all greatly; but even more so the inmates in prisons. Depending on the correctional facility, inmates are getting little to no protection from Covid. In order to help protect some inmates, this petition is in favor of releasing inmates either serving a short sentence or those who do not have much time left on their sentence. Releasing these inmates to their families before they are infected will save them from senseless harm. If you do not agree with this I encourage you to reach out to become better informed of the situation or do your own research on what is going on inside of prisons right now. It is basic human rights that an inmate’s health is protected and if that is not being done, the least we can do is release inmates that would not be there much longer anyways. My fiancé, Isaiah is only 20 years old, incarcerated for repeated probation violations after a crime he committed when he was an even younger teenager. He had to meet our newborn daughter on a 24 hr. furlough and it would be a shame if he never really got to know her due to the state not taking proper precautions in order to protect my babies father. He only has a couple more months left on his sentence, and we are afraid that by then things will have escalated already. There are many other reformed inmates like Isaiah, inmates close to their second chance, fearfully awaiting.
