Louisiana State Gov. Bobby Jindal and Angola Prison Warden, Burl Cain: RELEASE ROGERS LACAZE SR.

Rogers LaCaze Sr. was sentenced to death at 18 for a crime he did not commit. The City of New Orleans took less than 6 months to Wrongfully Convict Rogers. This the fastest time a person facing 3 first degree murders and a death sentence has ever been convicted. Even the Officer who admits to doing the killing had a longer time before being convicted. The injustice served in his case is Grave Deep.

LaCaze Sr. has been falsely imprisoned on death row at Angola since December 1995-- almost 17 years. LaCaze, who is a father of three, life has  been taken away by the State of Louisiana for a crime that he did not commit. Evidence that PROVES Rogers' innocence has not been seen in court because the Louisiana State attorney's office continues to delay justice for Rogers in order to hide their own malfesance from the original trial.

Just a few shocking facts of injustice from the case include:

No gun residue was ever found on Rogers' person at the time of arrest or later on any of his clothes collected from his home.

No gun found on Rogers or at his home in searches conducted during and after his arrest.

No identifying witness that Rogers was at the crime scene while the crimes were in progress.

Rogers had several witnesses that could testify that he was not at the crime scene essentially upholding his alibi. Due to ineffective defense counsel these witnesses were never called upon to testify.

The murder weapon was found with the co-defendants brother, the actual killer, three years later.

Pertinent eveidence was witheld from the defense by the State of Louisiana, which violates the Giglio, Napue and Brady statues.

Evidence and key transcipts were "mishandled" and even "lost" after Rogers was convicted, which prevents him from having a fair appeal.

....And the laundry list of inproprities and violations of due process by the Louisiana State attorney's office goes on.

We cannot continue to stand idle while the rights of our fellow citizens are violated and they are falsely imprisoned and even murdered by the state for crimes they did not commit.

IF THIS CAN HAPPEN TO ROGERS SO EASILY, THE SAME THING CAN HAPPEN TO YOU, YOUR SON, YOUR DAUGHTER, OR ANYONE THAT YOU CARE ABOUT.

I URGE YOU TO SIGN THIS PETITION TODAY. STAND UP FOR ROGERS. STAND UP FOR YOUR OWN LIFE AND RIGHTS!

My Name is Ariyonne Marshall, I am a single mother, I am 24, I am an American but...

I AM ROGERS LACAZE. AND SO ARE YOU

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
