Prices per child at Tiddenfoot have just leapt from £22.50 a month to £29.60 and we have been given just 2 weeks notice of the change with no explanation why it has gone up so much. This is a huge and unacceptable increase of 30% and I find it hard to see how Stevenage Leisure can justify this. The teachers are very good and lessons are good value at £22.50 but my son was in a overcrowded class with 9 pupils on his side of the pool yesterday and had to constantly wait for his turn to swim. Definitely not worth the big increase! What's more the changing rooms are smelly, dirty and the showers were incidentally cold yesterday. Even worse, Stevenage Leisure have stopped other (cheaper) outside swimming groups like Crusaders from using their pool and so now have a virtual monopoly of the swimming market in Leighton Buzzard. I would understand an increase of a pound or so but an increase of over £7 is too much. I call on Stevenage Leisure to rethink this unfair price increase to a more appropriate level so that children can carry on learning to swim at a reasonable price
