"Urge LEMB to scrap huge rise in parking fees"
Why this petition matters

We, the residents of Loughborough Estate, call on the Loughborough Estate Management Board (LEMB) to scrap a proposed increase in parking fees to £50, and to keep them to the level of 2021 at £35.
The proposed rise would represent an increase of a staggering 43 percent. Furthermore, it comes at a time when the cost of living is rising sharply, affecting energy bills, food and drink, fuel and other items.
At the same time, taxes are rising, notably National Insurance, while wages are stagnating. Families throughout Lambeth are feeling the pressure from these multiple financial issues.
To hit car-owning households on Loughborough Estate with this punitive increase in parking fees is unfair and damaging.
UK inflation currently stands at 5.4 percent, projected to peak at 7.5 percent. While this is problematic enough, it is far below the proposed 43 percent hike in parking fees. We call on the LEMB to think again and keep fees as they are for the next 12 months, and to introduce any rises sensitively, proportionately and gradually.
