In the recent years Los Gatos High School has come under attack publicly for the Rape Culture and Sexual Assault that has happened by their male students on and off campus. These assaults have been happening for much longer than these last few years but only now with the help of the few courageous that have come forward and social media it has been made public. Instead of holding their students accountable for their actions and setting clear consequences for their actions, they are blaming the victims. An enforced dress code will not solve the rape culture and the reoccurring sexual harassment at school. Instead of teaching students to cover up, administration should be teaching students to respect bodies of all shapes, sizes, and gender identities. Covering up will protect no one except those who cannot control their actions. Wandering hands and eyes will not be fixed by clothing choice. The school needs to be enforcing respect rather than taking time away from students who have "broken the dress code" to go to the office. A dress code is doing nothing but teaching students to be ashamed of their bodies.
