HELP NOW: Houses May be Built Over Oil Fields; Climate Change, Traffic & Air Pollution!
Voice your opinion now about Entrada South - we have until November 8th to object and share our concerns.
Building 1500+ units can do a lot of damage to the existing homeowners' property and our environment if we don't share our concerns. If you are concerned about air quality, climate change, the Santa Clara River, water supply, houses may be built on top or near oil wells as well as more traffic, now is the time to say something.
The County wants to hear your concerns about this proposal and what you think should be addressed in the Environmental Impact Report for the Entrada South development and additions to the Commerce Center.
Review the Notice of Preparation. There are numerous holes in this plan that need to be addressed ASAP. https://planning.lacounty.gov/assets/upl/case/pm18108_nop.pdf
The County is proposing to only produce a supplemental EIR to the Resource Management Plan which is a state and federal document, not a county document. How will the County enforce conditions of approval? What happened to the draft EIR that they produced in 2015 which we all commented on. Why is there no section on Climate Change? Why did the County only give two weeks notice for the Scoping meeting for this huge project? We are in the middle of a drought. Where will the water come from? Some of the houses may be built over abandoned oil wells. Is that safe?
