In Chicago public school teachers are not paid enough to keep up with rent inflation within the city and are often left having to live together or in very bad parts of the city. Firefighters and Police officers are both given rent assistance from the city but teachers have been denied this assistance. 

The teachers are so preoccupied with living day to day that they cannot properly focus on their students well being. They focus on surviving due to the lack of rent assistance due that they cannot create the best learning environment for their students. This results in the future generations being negatively affected creating a worse future for us all.

Teachers are heroes just like firefighters and police officers and deserve to live in an average house without having to worry about living paycheck to paycheck.
