Not many people remember, but about 8 months ago TheSeanConn mentioned a competitive tournament which would be officially hosted by Island Royale. He delayed it majorly for 2 months, to the point where it never happened.
Some of the community were unhappy about this, so I decided to make a petition in late September to ask for Jared or Sean to do what the casual and competitive community have been waiting on for a long time: an official competitive tournament or an official competitive scene, it got a decent amount of signatures and Jared responded in the discord: "official tournaments soon"!
It never happened. Ever.
At the moment, the largest and fastest growing competitive discord is IRCL, which has received an outstanding 1000 members in less than a month, besides this, neither Jared nor Sean have taken any notice of their competitive scene whatsoever. I'm not here to complain - I'm here to say that it's about time Jared notices his competitive scene and helps them out as a developer, as it is common for developers to do this for competitive scenes in ROBLOX.
There would be major benefits to Jared publicizing IRCL as an official competitive discord - it would bring in lots of new challengers, and give them harder opponents. It would also bring forth better community interaction, as the discord staff are extremely active in answering questions and hosting gamenights and scrimmages. The benefit wouldn't just be for newcomers, but experienced tournament players would have a better experience with more tournament opportunities and ideas flowing in.
To conclude, I'd like to remind you that while it's been promised, official competitive has never come in the 8 months it's been spoken of, yet unofficial competitions are thriving right now, and is being noticed by other experienced ROBLOX e-sports communities. IRCL has the potential to be a great official competitive discord.
