Hobart City Council: DON'T censor Dark MOFO 150.Action slaughter of bull for ART.

Internationally acclaimed arts and culture festival Dark MOFO has announced the inclusion of controversial artist Hermann Nitsch in their event schedule. Nitsch is best known for his works utilising the carcasses, blood and entrails of slaughtered animals.
We killed almost 700 million animals for food products last year. Now animal rights activists want to cancel this performance piece due to the fact there are animal products involved. Censorship of the arts is not ok. Art is not a trivial endeavour.
This type of performance, and the calls to censor it, show just how detached our society has become from our traditional agricultural way of life and the rituals and cultures embedded in our history.
We request that the Hobart City Council does not intervene in this matter. Should this event be censored it will reflect badly on the core values and image this city strives to uphold.
