His design just SCREAMS dark type. The addee armor, the serious/battle ready eyes, AND the first Boarrok you see in the game is at night. Not to mention the plenty of dark colors like the brown skin, copper looking armor, and brown eyes. All cool colors. (cool as in color wheel cool not cool looking, although it is that too!)
