In the Bend La-Pine school district the lunch period is only 35 minutes long. Our classes consist of 72 minutes. Most students leave campus during lunch to get food, due to most campuses being open and allowing us to leave. The schools encourage students to leave campus due to COVID. Students don’t have enough time to go get food from off campus, eat their lunch, and come back in time for class, making them late to class. If we made our classes 5 minutes shorter and took that extra time and added it to our lunch, our classes would be 67 minutes long and our lunch would be 60 minutes long. If we had an hour of lunch we would have enough time to go off campus to get lunch and have enough time to eat it and be on time to class.
